More About Amoled Wallpapers

Amoled smartwatch is a display technology used in mobile devices, smartphones, tablet computers, laptops, and televisions. OLED describes a specific thin-film display technology in which organic compounds form the electroluminescent material. The active matrix refers to the technology behind addressing pixels.
As of 2008, Amoled technology has been used in mobile phones, media players, and digital cameras and continues to make progress towards low power, low cost, and large-size applications.

An AMOLED display consists of an active matrix of OLED pixels embedded in or integrated into a thin-film transistor (TFT) array, which generates light upon electrical activation; acts as a set of switches to control the current flowing into each pixel. Typically, this continuous flow of current is controlled by a TFT, at least two TFTs in each pixel to start and stop charging a storage capacitor. The second is to provide the pixel with a voltage source at the level necessary to generate a constant current, thus eliminating the need for the very high currents required for passive matrix OLED operation. TFT background technology is essential in the production of AMOLED displays.

In Amoled, the two main TFT background technologies, polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) and amorphous silicon (a-Si), are currently flexible, offering the potential to fabricate active matrix backdrops directly onto flexible plastic substrates at low temperatures (below 150 °C). It is used to produce AMOLED displays. Red and green OLED films have a longer lifetime compared to blue OLED films. This variation results in color shifts as a particular pixel fades faster than other pixels. Amoled displays are prone to burn-in, which leaves a permanent mark of overused colors represented by overused images.

Amoled displays have higher refresh rates than passive-matrix, often reducing response time to less than a millisecond and consuming much less power. This advantage makes active-matrix OLEDs highly suitable for portable electronic devices where power consumption is critical to battery life.

Organic materials used in AMOLED displays tend to degrade in a relatively short time, causing color shifts, image persistence, or burn-in as one color begins to fade faster than another. As of 2010, demand for AMOLED displays has increased, and due to the shortage of supply of Samsung's produced images, some HTC smartphone models have been modified in the future to use next-generation LCD displays from the Samsung-Sony joint venture SLCD.
